The US patent system is a joke

Seemingly Google will be the first to market with their Project Glass considering Apple has shown not even a mockup till date. But because of this 2006 patent, it’s Lawsuit City all over again..

Whos more reliable: USPS, UPS or Fedex?

The post office is far more reliable than UPS or Fedex, and with better rates for package delivery. Sure, people send less mail and the post office has some serious budget issues, but if anything the service they provide has been excellent.

Google fined and forced to remove defamatory content by Australia court

I don’t understand how any human with the ability to think would even allow this to come to pass. I mean these judges went to school right? They have some kind of capacity for logic reasoning and deduction, correct? Because it seems to me they don’t. Seriously, how can someone come to conclusion that an entity is responsible for what another entity says about someone?

Was Apple’s iPhone 5 a 2012 disappointment?

Once again, customers pay the price for Apple’s idiotic mania for making products pointlessly thinner. Nobody was bitching that Apple’s products were TOO THICK. So instead of using miniaturization to make more room for BATTERY and CAMERA COMPONENTS, Apple squanders it.

The future of the Enterprise software Giant

While it may be a gross generalization to say the entire software industry is crumbling around us, and I am sure there is a logical fallacy somewhere in there, it is fair to say that there are fissures growing in the foundation. These fissures are the result of years and years of enterprise vendors selling expensive solutions, and delivering very little value. There is a reason for the cliche,”Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM.”

Hewlett-Packard stock Drops 12.4%, losing 8.8Billion

Sure is a shame HP CEO Meg Whitman wasn’t able to buy her way into being the Governor of California. Looks like HP is burning money faster than her campaign did.

My Review of Microsoft’s Surface With Windows RT

From the little bit of time (~3 hrs) I’ve spent with a Surface, it’s basically a smaller version of the Lenovo Yoga with a detachable keyboard. Unlike the Surface, the Lenovo Yoga is a full-featured Windows 8 laptop/tablet hybrid (basically what the currently mythical Surface Pro will be). Given that the Surface is designed to clearly be used with its detachable (but pretty much omnipresent) keyboard, anyone considering the Surface should probably just get the Yoga (or one of the other convertible Windows 8 ultrabooks).

Could the 13-inch retina MacBook Pro be the perfect machine?

We’re heading towards the day when OSX and iOS are the same, supported by iCloud. It’s obvious. We’ll see more devices, not less. Tablets do some things way better than laptops, and laptops do some things way better than tablets. No need to push them together, especially as costs come down.

Think facebook would be another Orkut?

Already FB is going down with its share prices.. I don’t think it would last more than 3-4 yrs.. seems to be saturated.Twitter is already ahead of FB, Pinterest is climbing, and I’m becoming the next youngest Billionaire with my new social network :p Seems ironic leaving this comment via facebook’s comment plugin..

Is Facebook over? Page reach drops

I just came back from a marketing conference and the consensus among speakers there was that Facebook is over — now maybe it is and maybe it isn’t — but that’s what these professional marketers are telling their clients and their audiences. Facebook has made it too difficult to get what used to be intrinsic — sharing.
